What Is Microblading?
Microblading is a semi-permanent makeup application technique in which pigment matching the natural brow color is applied in strokes mimicking eyebrow hairs into the upper layer of the skin. The purpose is to fill in missing patches of the eyebrow and to give a full, perfectly balanced look.
How Long Will Microbladed Brows Last?
With proper maintenance and aftercare, the effects of microblading will last from six to eighteen months. Factors such as skin type, exposure to sun, aftercare procedure and environmental effects will influence the life of your semi-permanent tattoo.
What Can I Expect?
Every appointment will begin with a consultation, and discussion of the client’s desired eyebrow shape. The initial application will take about two hours. Over the next two weeks, the eyebrows are allowed to heal, during which time the initial color will fade approximately 50%.
After 4 – 6 weeks, the client is invited back for a follow up appointment, during which the eyebrows are examined to ensure that they are healed properly, a second application is provided to fill in and perfect the brow shape to the client’s satisfaction.
Will My Eyebrows Look Normal During Healing?
The eyebrows will look neatly shaped and clean during the entire process from the first application to the finish, with no down time required. A healing gel is applied to protect the brows, and other than a hint of shine from the gel, nothing unusual about the brows is typically be detected.
How Do I Care For My New Eyebrows?
After the first application, a healing gel such as petroleum jelly is to be applied regularly to the brows, to protect and moisturize. It is very important the brows are kept moisturized to minimize peeling of the pigment. It is normal to leave the first application loving the shape and color of your brows, only to notice some lightening and a thinning effect after they are healed. * Microblading is not recommended for individuals who are pregnant, breastfeeding, diabetic, epileptic, suffering from a viral infection, disease, cold, or flu, in the process of chemotherapy, experiencing sensitive skin or a skin condition such as psoriasis or rosacea, suffering from sunburn, broken capillaries in the eye area, diagnosed with any heart disease, have undergone an organ transplant or a recent major surgery, or have any kind of bleeding or circulation disorder. Microblading is also not recommended for individuals who have used Accutane or any other strong retinoid in the past year or for those who have had Botox or any other facial surgery or invasive procedure on the face in the past 30 days.
